Senior Software Engineer (AI-First Development)

The Opportunity
This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who sees AI as a fundamental part of modern software engineering. In this role, you will design, build and scale advanced software products and services by extensively leveraging cutting edge AI tools, LLMs and agentic workflows alongside strong engineering principles and proven software development practices.
You will not only write code; you will fundamentally redefine how software is designed, architected, and delivered, demonstrating a clear edge over traditional development processes.
Experience in fintech and designing complex, high-throughput systems would be highly preferred. Alongside your technical contribution, you will provide leadership to other engineers, mentor team members, help shape our technical direction and work closely with colleagues across the business to deliver high-impact product.
Key Responsibilities
- AI-Driven Engineering: Extensively leverage AI tools, LLMs, and automated pipelines to accelerate design, coding, testing, and deployment, clearly demonstrating efficiency and output gains compared to traditional software engineering methodologies.
- Complex System Architecture: Design, build, and scale robust fintech products and enterprise services with a strong focus on security, resilience, and performance.
- Technical Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire engineering teams, setting high standards for code quality, architectural integrity, and innovative problem-solving.
- R&D & Innovation: Continuously evaluate emerging AI capabilities, frameworks, and developer tools to optimise our product development lifecycle.
What Are Looking For
- Extensive Software Engineering Experience: Proven track record of designing and scaling complex software products, preferably within the fintech or payments domain.
- AI-First Mindset (Mandatory): Demonstrated expertise in utilising AI coding assistants, generative AI tools, and automated workflows to build software significantly faster and smarter than conventional methods. Please be prepared to showcase past projects and concrete examples comparing your AI-augmented workflow with traditional approaches.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Strong leadership skills with experience managing, mentoring, and inspiring engineering teams to deliver high-impact results.
Technical Excellence: Deep understanding of modern software architecture, system design, secure coding practices, and continuous delivery.
Web Technologies: Strong experience in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Next.js or Angular, with knowledge of REST APIs, cloud platforms, databases, CI/CD and secure web development.
